Social game maker Digital Chocolate announced the release of 3D Rollercoaster Rush: New York and 3D Tower Bloxx: New York, two new games that integrate proximity-based multiplayer capability based on AllJoyn peer-to-peer technology.
AllJoyn is an open-source, radio-agnostic application development framework, developed by Qualcomm Innovation Center, a subsidiary of Qualcomm. Players of the two new games can use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to connect with other gamers near them.
3D Rollercoaster Rush: New York is based on the popular Rollercoaster Rush franchise, which has accumulated more than 19 million downloads on mobile platforms and generated more than 200 million gameplays on the Web. AllJoyn will allow playing a real-time multiplayer race in this title. 3D Tower Bloxx: New York is a puzzle & strategy franchise that has won numerous mobile gaming awards and has been a smash hit on console platforms, the Web, and Facebook. With AllJoyn, players can start a head-to-head multiplayer competition over WiFi.
